1. Harley-Davidson Street 500 & Street 750 (2014–2020) Perhaps the most universally panned Harleys of the modern era. Released in 2014 as part of Harley's attempt to broaden its appeal to younger demographics, the Street models were criticized for their cheap materials and lack of performance. The core problem was identity — they lacked the soul Harley riders wanted, and in North America were criticized for looking like generic commuter bikes rather than anything tied to Harley's heritage. They quietly faded from the lineup, which said everything.

2. 2001 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide A bike that should have been a flagship but became a cautionary tale about cutting corners. The specific issue with the 2001 Ultra Classic was that its engine used plastic parts that wore out disconcertingly quickly, with some models requiring repairs after just 15,000 miles or so. For a touring bike expected to rack up serious highway miles, that was unforgivable.
3. 2014 Electra Glide The 2014 Electra Glide is not well loved, largely because it was plagued by issues with the engine and brakes. Coming from a storied nameplate with a loyal following, this model year was a real disappointment and damaged trust in what is typically one of Harley's most respected touring lines.

4. 2008 Softail Rocker The Softail Rocker was meant to be a custom chopper-inspired bike for riders looking to stand out, but quickly became one of the least-loved models in the company's history. The low-slung seat and stretched-out handlebars made for an awkward ride, especially over long distances, and the rear suspension was stiff, further adding to rider discomfort. The bike was discontinued not long after release.

5. 2008 XR1200 The XR1200 was inspired by Harley's flat-track racing heritage and on paper seemed like a promising combination of Harley's storied past and modern performance. However, it struggled to find its place in the market — designed to compete with sport bikes, it failed to capture the essence of either a true Harley cruiser or a high-performance sportbike. The result was a machine that felt out of place in both categories, and many riders found its handling mediocre.
