The Shocking New Sales Leader That Just Left the Big Boys in the Dust
Posted by James Plouf on

You might think Harley-Davidson or even Honda rules the roost when it comes to American motorcycle sales, but there’s a new number one in town—and it’s neither of them.
Kawasaki has officially taken the top spot as America’s best-selling motorcycle brand. Thanks to a massive 14% jump in sales, Team Green overtook Honda (whose sales dropped by 8%) to claim the crown. While Honda held the lead for a long time, Kawasaki’s surge has reshuffled the deck.
What’s driving these numbers? It isn't just sportbikes like the Ninja; their Vulcan cruiser lineup is a huge part of their success, appealing to riders looking for that cruiser style on a different platform. Meanwhile, Harley-Davidson didn't crack the top two this time around.
It looks like the market is shifting, but for those of us who ride American iron, sales charts are just numbers. We know what we like.
What’s your take? Are you surprised to see Kawasaki on top, or are people just looking for cheaper alternatives to the real deal?
